Claude Folders - Privacy Policy

This policy describes what data the Claude Folders Chrome extension ("the extension") collects, why, and what we do with it. The extension is built by Forged By Atlas, a solo developer operating in Utah.

What stays on your device

The following data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. It never leaves your computer:

• Your folder structure (names, colors, ordering)
• Which chats you've added to which folders
• Your sidebar preferences (collapsed state, search history)
• A copy of your active session token, so you stay signed in

This data is keyed by your Claude organization identifier, so different Claude accounts in the same browser see different folder sets. If you uninstall the extension, this data is deleted by Chrome.

What we send to our server

To support Pro features and account management, the extension communicates with a backend hosted on Cloudflare Workers. The following data is collected:

• Your email address - used to create your account, send magic link sign-in emails, and associate your subscription with you
• Authentication tokens - random session tokens we issue when you sign in, used to verify your identity on subsequent requests
• Subscription state - your current tier (free or Pro), Stripe customer ID, and subscription ID if applicable

That's the complete list. We do not collect, transmit, or store the contents of your Claude conversations. We do not see the names of your folders. We do not see which chats you've organized. None of that data ever reaches our servers.

What we do NOT collect

• Your Claude chat contents
• Your folder names or contents
• Browsing history outside of claude.ai
• Analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking
• Your IP address (beyond what Cloudflare logs for security purposes, which we do not access)
• Cookies for tracking purposes

Third party services

The extension relies on the following third parties to function:

• Cloudflare Workers hosts the backend that processes sign-in and subscription requests. Cloudflare's privacy policy is at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
• Stripe processes all payments and stores your billing information. We never see or store your credit card details. Stripe's privacy policy is at stripe.com/privacy.
• Resend delivers the magic link sign-in emails. Resend's privacy policy is at resend.com/legal/privacy-policy.
• Anthropic (Claude.ai) hosts the chats you organize. The extension runs alongside their site but does not transmit any of your Claude data to us. Anthropic's privacy policy is at anthropic.com/legal/privacy.

Data retention

Your account and session data is retained while your account exists. If you wish to delete your account entirely, contact us at the email below and we will remove your user record, session tokens, and Stripe customer association. Billing records may be retained by Stripe for tax and compliance purposes outside our control.

Local data in your browser persists until you uninstall the extension or clear your browser storage.

Your rights

You can:

• Sign out at any time using the footer's "Sign out" link in the extension panel
• Cancel your subscription through the extension's "Manage subscription" button or directly through Stripe
• Request deletion of your account by emailing the address below
• Export your folder data by inspecting Chrome's storage (it's not encrypted because it's local-only)

Changes to this policy

If we materially change how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above. We won't add new data collection without disclosure.
